Kwantlen Polytechnic University is renovating and re-purposing a vacant former Trades Building located on their Langley, BC campus for use by the Community and Heath Studies (CAHS) Program. The existing building has a steel structure, brick veneer walls, corrugated metal siding, and acoustic metal deck ceiling spanning over steel trusses. The building has a central interior double height space that will be in filled with a new steel structure second floor. Storefront glazing will be added to the north and south facades of the building and a second row of windows will be added to the second floor. The completed re-purposed CAHS building will house classrooms, nursing lab classrooms, offices, and student study space.
