TFC Training Facility and Academy

TBD, Downsview Park Toronto, Ontario

The Toronto FC (TFC) is a Major League Soccer (MLS) club founded in 2006 and based in Toronto, Ontario. MLS is considered the top professional soccer league in Canada and the US. TFC became MLS's thirteenth team, and first Canadian team, upon their expansion into the league in 2007. The team plays their home matches at the soccer-specific BMO Field, located in Exhibition Place along the Toronto lakeshore. The team is owned by Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., which operates the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, the AHL's Toronto Marlies, and the NBA's Toronto Raptors. Currently the TFC practices at BMO field, albeit within a non exclusive schedule with the City of Toronto. To maintain the competitive edge required for the team, an official practice and training facility is required. The site will encompass three (3) full size outdoor pitches, one (1) full size artificial pitch with seasonal bubble, other small training pitches and a 40,000 sq.ft. field house. The field house will contain dressing rooms, work-out facilities, therapy and medical areas, classrooms, lecture halls, a full service kitchen, lunchroom, players lounge, management offices, dorm rooms, field maintenance, workshops and storage. The new training facility will be located within Downsview Park in Toronto, Ontario. The site is approximately 12 acres and the facility is to be LEED Certified or better.(summary imported from CAGBC database. remove this message if edited) READ MORE
