Summary

Stantec's Red Deer office is poised to 'walk the talk' while moving to its new premises to accomodate the growing needs the firm. It is geared towards achieving LEED Canada for Commercial Interiors - Silver standards for its new office housed in 3965 SM leased space in a newly constructed commercial building called “Executive Place' in downtown Red Deer. Distributed over the top five floors (floor 7 to 12) of this building the new office design consists of : open Reception lobby, lounge, feature green wall, meeting rooms, open work spaces, multipurpose/ training rooms, office cubical areas, library, media space, file rooms, equipment room, phone booths, server room. Part of the 7th floor is sub-leased. Minor demolition is included as part of this work involving a stair cut to connect multiple floors. The intent is to create an Interior premise to LEED- Silver standards is by: • creating a healthy, productive environment by providing excellent indoor environmental quality; • providing Green Living wall for indoor air quality; • specifying sustainable finishes and providing ergonomic work-tools to occupants; • using daylight and occupancy sensors, energy efficient overhead and task lighting design; • Green cleaning & Solid Waste management; • access to alternative transportation, bicycle storage and associated shower rooms with low flow showers; and • providing education to members of public. The project works are scheduled to be done from January 2012 to April 2012.
