We have successfully completed over 50 LEED certifications, over 150 energy models, and are currently consulting on over 100 active LEED projects, amounting to over 25 million square feet of development. Included in our certifications are 3 Platinum projects: SEFC Community Centre, The Athletes’ Village Net Zero Building and the Metro Vancouver waste-to-energy facility. Recollective has experience consulting on the largest Living Building (pending certification) in the world, the Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence. As an early pioneer in LBC, we understand its complexity and can translate it into a cost-effective and successful design solution.Recollective is recognized by the industry as experts in building simulations. As a result, we are among an elite pool of energy modellers approved by the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) to simulate projects without the need for third-party verification, saving owners and developers close to $5,000 in consulting fees per project.

Recollective is also approved by BC Hydro as a qualified energy modeller for conducting BC Hydro High-Performance Building Studies. This gives us a competitive advantage in that 100% of our energy modeling fee is covered by BC Hydro for qualifying projects. In addition, BC Hydro may also provide funds to the owner or developer for capital costs related to energy efficiency.

Beyond the building scale, Recollective also provides strategic consulting services to municipalities in areas such as sustainable land-use strategies, green building guidelines and policies. Examples include a Green Building Strategy for City of Albuquerque, a Carbon-Neutral and LEED Gold Strategy for BC Housing, and a Green Building Renovation by-law for One and Two Family Dwellings for the City of Vancouver. With experience as LEED project application reviewers for the CaGBC, as well as being instructors for UBC, CaGBC and Cascadia, we have an in-depth knowledge of what’s required for a successful integrated green building design, as well as LEED and LBC application. Recollective is a member of both the Canada and US Green Building Councils and is a practitioner, as well as an educator and advocate of green building. Through volunteer engagement on numerous local, national and transnational green building committees and boards of directors, including the Canada, USGBC and Cascadia Green Building Councils, Recollective is committed to help strengthen and grow the green building movement.

As a certified B-Corporation, Recollective has been verified as having met rigorous and independent standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. B Corps are a new type of corporation that uses the power of business to solve environmental and social problems.
